Rep. Spencer Bachus declared “Sarah Palin cost us control of the Senate.”
Is this guy for real? Sarah Palin delivered the 2010 Elections for this ingrate. Where was Spencer Bachus when Sarah Palin smacked down the grotesquely utilitarian end-of-life treatments by naming them for what they are, Death Panels? The entire Democratic Congress (then in control of both houses) could not explain away the practice of cutting off the elderly, so they dropped it. It was the only real defeat Republicans inflicted on Obamacare and not one elected Republican made it happen. A former Governor did it with the tools of an American teenager.
Sarah Palin was also unafraid to break ranks with the party, as in the NY-23 race where she endorsed a third party candidate named Doug Hoffman. Newt Gingrich, the NRA and the Daily Kos founder, Markos Moulitsas backed “Republican” candidate Dede Scozzafava. Scozzafava had received an earlier endorsement from the ACORN powered Working Families Party. Dede endorsed her Democrat opponent two days before the election, leaving her name on the ballot and sucking up 5.5% of the vote, enough to put Hoffman over the top. Markos Moulitsas knew his candidate. So did Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin has lead from the front for two years against unbelievable attacks, ultra-vulgar photoshops, sexual jokes, articles titled Sarah Palin Naked and a media assault that only Presidents Ronald Reagan or G.W. Bush could appreciate.
Where was Rep. Spencer Bachus during all of this? Voting for TARP, Cash for Clunkers, trying to ban online poker, etc…
The DNC ran an ad just before election day begging “Don’t let Sarah Palin win.”
They seemed to know who was leading the charge.
They did not run an ad saying “Don’t let Spencer Bachus win.”
